In Beyond the Basics, you'll learn how to embed flowers, how to create a bangle with birds silhouetted against a sunset gradient, how to embed lace and feathers, and how to create an iridescent colour shift effect. In this workshop you'll be working with a slow curing resin and you'll create five gorgeous bangles. Some are complex, some are simple. But you are guaranteed to create some beautiful pieces.
In-studio classes have resumed as we are able to practise social distancing. Classes numbers are strictly limited to ensure we meet the current health directives. We provide hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes in the studio to help protect us all from Coronavirus.
The Beginners Bangle and Ring workshop is a pre-requisite for this class. If you haven't done that class but feel you have the basics already, please email me to discuss what experience you have.
Workshops are held at my Underwood studio in Brisbane (address supplied upon booking confirmation). Workshops run from 2pm - 5pm unless otherwise stated.
To enrol in this workshop, please email me.
Can't wait for the next class to be announced? Then email me with your preferred date and time and we'll organise it.
Private one-on-one resin workshops are also available. These are ideal if what you want to learn is not covered in my regular workshops or if you want to learn how to resin in a more private setting. Additional fees apply to private workshops. Please email me to make arrangements.
This 3 hour workshop covers embedding items in slow curing resin. With a slow gel time, the resin will allow you to get really creative and play around with the items you embed. But that slower gel time also presents some different challenges which you'll learn how to overcome in the workshop. You'll learn how to embed a variety of different objects and how to prepare them to get a successful result.
You'll create the five bangles pictured above. The designs and colours may vary from time to time but the techniques will remain the same. There are so many different items you can capture inside resin - some are straightforward like feathers and some are a bit trickier, like the colour gradient in the Birds on a Wire bangle.
Classes are restricted in size so you receive individual instruction and you will leave the workshop confident that you can continue experimenting with this technique at home. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions about specific objects you might wish to include in resin.
Your class fee covers everything you need to complete the projects. You'll keep all the items that you make during the workshop.
A resin kit is included in Option 2. Your workshop fee includes class materials, tuition and the take home resin kit.
This is a great option for anyone wanting to make gifts for their family and friends. Kit includes everything you need to continue creating your own resin bangles at home including a slow curing resin, a quality silicone mould and two resin colourants to get you started.
